MARK HAUGHEY SAYS ‘THANKS’ 1h3r3m

Last week Glenavon’s veteran defender Mark Haughey held “A Night at the Races” in the Bedeck Suite. It was the first of his testimonial events. He is grateful to everyone who helped to make it a success. 4u3y7

“Thanks to all who showed up and participated,” he said. “Particular thanks to my family, friends, teammates, all the Glenavon directors and the club volunteers who ed me.”

“I’d also like to thank the main event sponsor, “The Strain Practice,” and everyone who sponsored races and horses.”

“Thanks to those who provided prizes for the raffle,” he continued. “Congratulations to all who were successful.”

“I am particularly grateful to Paul McCrum and Jeff Magee who helped to organise the evening. These men are great to have at the club. They represent Glenavon with pride everywhere they go.”

Mark is currently side-lined by injury. He is working hard to regain fitness. “The last four or five months have been very frustrating,” he said. “It has not been what I envisioned my testimonial season to be. I am working hard with our sports therapist, Chris Loughran, and the other physios to get myself right again. I want to contribute to the run-in and help the club to finish as high as possible in the table.”

The Lisburn man, of course, started his career at Mourneview Park. “Glenavon has been a huge part of my life,” he continued. “That is from making my debut at 16 and being made club captain at 18. I got a great welcome when I returned a few years ago from Linfield. I have been fully ed through my recent injury problems. Glenavon deserves its reputation as a caring, family club.”

Everyone hopes that it will not be too long until “The Hawk” is playing regularly again.
